If you hide your wounds you may hide your gifts
If you hide your wounds you may just be hiding your gifts. You are not here to be superhuman, you are here to be human. To be human is to experience all that comes with it, including loss, including pain. To rest when you need to rest. To feel things when you feel them. No one is immune to the highs and lows of the human experience. Your healed wounds are like stamps in the passport of your life. Collect all of them proudly. Nurse them into their wholeness. If you do this you will not need to support them in years to come.
Don’t pretend to have it all together. The truth is no one on this planet does. The more honest you are about your experience, and the more you let yourself feel all of the feelings that come along with it, the sooner the gifts will follow. And they will, follow.
Every cut knows how to heal. Your wounds are the Universe’s way of revealing the gifts that reside inside of you. Breaking open the light that is bursting to come out.
So embrace your wounds and let them transmute into something wonderful.
Whatever you do, don’t pretend to be perfect. No human is. The longer you spend trying to cover up your suffering, or pushing it down with food or alcohol or relationships or something else, the longer you will be prolonging the transition from wound to gift. How have you been trying to hide your wounds?
