If it is in your heart it is part of your path

If it is in your heart it is part of your path. That’s something that took me forever to realise.
Ever since I was a little girl I knew with conviction that I was here to stand on a stage, share my heart and shine my light as bright as humanly possible. I knew I had a message, a calling to fulfill…. But for almost 20 years I let my fear and that incessant feeling of never quite feeling ready, stop me from stepping out from the sidelines. I dimmed my light and busied myself in the doing.
Today, I am so proud to report to you, that this past Sunday, on a brightly lit stage smack bang in the middle of London, I finally took a whopping deep breath, stepped onto the stage and shared my light with a theatre full of hundreds of people at I Can Do It Ignite. And it felt absolutely fantastic!
If you are reading this, chances are, you have a yearning of your own. A niggle, a calling that no matter how hard you try you just can’t shake.
No matter what your calling is (our soul is always calling us every moment of every day), no matter what your stage is, no matter how great the fear is (or especially if the fear is great), what I want you to know is this:
Trust the niggle, answer the ache, say yes to the feeling. If it is in your heart, it is part of your path.
What your soul longs to do, is what you are here to do. It might not end up as you imagine, but that’s probably because The Universe has an even better plan for you. We don’t need to worry about building the path, our only job is to listen to the direction our soul is calling towards, and then keep saying YES by putting one foot in front of the other.
Steven Pressfield puts it so perfectly:
“Rule of thumb: The more important a call or action is to our soul’s evolution, the more resistance we will feel toward pursuing it.”
Amen to that.
